Whether you are an expectant mother or have already given birth, adoption is always an option. Although every state has different adoption laws and agencies may handle the process differently, we want you to understand the adoption process through A Loving Option Adoption.
Steps to Placing Your Child
Placing your child for adoption isn’t an easy decision, and it shouldn’t be. You love your child and want what’s best for them. However, we know that love makes it a difficult choice.
1. Discuss Adoption With Your Dedicated Birth Parent Specialist
You need to be confident that adoption is the best option for you and your child. To help you, we want you to thoroughly understand the process and receive the support and care you deserve.
A national survey of birth mothers found their greatest satisfaction with their adoptions came from a complete understanding of the adoption process and never feeling pressured.
Our compassionate team provides free adoption counseling throughout the entire adoption process and beyond. You will have a designated, local East Tennessee Birth Parent Specialist who will work with you in person.
We also provide a 24/7 Helpline so you can speak with someone any time, day or night. You are our priority.
2. Receive Free Adoption Services
All of our services for expectant and birth mothers are free. Here’s a list of some of the free services you receive:
- We provide prenatal and childbirth education to ensure a healthy pregnancy and delivery.
- Prenatal medical care and delivery expenses are paid as needed.
- All legal expenses and attorney’s fees for you and your child are covered.
- Counseling and support are available throughout the entire process and beyond.
- Access to a support group of birth mothers is provided.
- Housing assistance may be available during pregnancy.
- Food, utilities, phone, and certain transportation costs may be available.
3. Choosing the Potential Adoptive Parents
There are three options for placing your child for adoption. You can choose an open or semi-open plan or remain completely private with a closed adoption. Today, most adoptions are open or semi-open.
When you choose an open or semi-open adoption, you can also select your child’s adoptive parents. Take a closer look at some of the waiting couples hoping to adopt through A Loving Option Adoption.
Once you choose a family, we can schedule a meeting with the potential family in person or online. As your pregnancy continues, we review what it will look like at the hospital between you, your baby, and the couple you chose to parent your child.
